Monday’s Multitude of Gratitude

I love getting packages in the mail!  And this week one of my packages was a new book.
A beautiful new book that I think is destined to become a favorite.  I very highly recommend it.
Read the first chapter here

a tidbit from church that I thought was interesting…
The Hebrew word for Truth is made up of three letters:  the first letter of the alphabet, the middle letter, and the last letter.  So that would symbolize the completeness, the all-encompassing nature, of Truth.  Isn’t that neat?

the smell of pomegranate shampoo
getting packages in the mail
Amy walking in too-big shoes
nearly instant hot water, after my husband’s plumbing job
a wonderful librarian who doesn’t mind doing all my interlibrary loans
hearing my daughter say the words, “Yeah, that makes sense now” when I explain her math
Sylvia’s huge smiles and long curly eyelashes
hearing about
Prariedogese
meeting a new couple at Bible study
days that look like you’re inside a snow globe
truck windows that go up!  *
good people who help you work on things  **
lettuce wraps at P.F. Chang’s
a surprise getaway
the sparkle of snowflakes drifting through a sunbeam
cutting hams and slicing bacon while spending the day with friends
fresh ham and bacon in my freezer
playing Guesstures and imitating a kangaroo
the lines around my husband’s eyes when he smiles
a black river meandering between snowy white banks
an alleluia descant

*truck windows that go up…  one of those things you never think to be thankful for until they don’t.  Especially when it’s snowing like crazy   …and you’re miles from home  …and you really don’t have time to mess with it.  But you have to mess with it, because there is no way that you can possibly drive 5-6 hours back home with an open window in below-freezing weather.  **So you go to a cousin’s house late at night and together you figure out how to get the window, if not exactly fixed, at least UP.  Yes, definitely something to be thankful for.

# 436-456 of my gifts  …and counting.

I'm a wonderer. I spend a lot of time mulling, pondering, and cogitating. This is just a place to park some of those thoughts.
