It’s been a long time since I’ve shared my gifts.
Not because I haven’t received any,
but sometimes they begin to sound
And whenever that happens,
I need to regroup,
regain my wonder,
rediscover my greatest Gift,
in order to see the beauty
of the everyday.
Gifts that make my life worth living,
gifts that make my moments holy.
Not gifts that I wish for,
but gifts that I have received.
Gifts that bring me back
into Joy and Gratitude.
listening to my son read aloud to his sister
forsythia in bloom
a place called Fish & Chicks
advertising Legs & Thighs???
chasing geese in a parking lot
a wedding in a barn
a new calf tottering in a green pasture
a farm pond
motorcycles on the roof of a repair shop
rolling hillsides pink and white with orchards in bloom
dirt sifting through my fingers
playing Dictionary and other old-fashioned parlor games
rain on the roof
listening to my son enthuse about his new job
