Would You Believe

Since the gingerbread_house didn’t get eaten this year and we were tired of having it around, we decided today to take it down to Johnny Carino’s, the restaurant it was modeled after.

They seemed delighted, and gave us $50 in gift certificates!    :cool4:   How cool is that??

I'm a wonderer. I spend a lot of time mulling, pondering, and cogitating. This is just a place to park some of those thoughts.

    That’s pretty awesome!!  As is the gingerbread house.    Let us know if they put it on display.

    They set it on a buffet thing near the door, and it sounded like that was where it would stay, at least until the owner comes Tuesday.  Hope it doesn’t fall apart right away!

    How cool is that?!  Much better than eating all that gingerbread, too.

  6. I’m curious…why didn’t you eat it this year?

    Wow, that’s totally amazing! 🙂 I guess they just thought it was cool to have a gingerbread replica of their restaurant? Its really awesome that they would do that for you, did they know that you were looking to give it to them and not “sell” it to them? Because, if so, then that was really nice for them to give you something ANYway. 🙂 You just don’t hear about that too often, you know?

    @Sunriselearner – We always take it down to mil’s for the family Christmas weekend, and then the kids eat it on the last day.  This year things were rushed, because we had to get home for a friend’s mother’s funeral Monday morning, so when we were ready to leave it hadn’t been touched yet, so we just packed it up and brought it home.  Since then, it’s set on the dining room table and we’ve hardly looked at it.  Definitely time for someone else to enjoy it.@tracezilla@lovelyish – Yep, I thought it was pretty nice of them.  But they seemed very surprised that we wanted to give it to them–I guess that doesn’t happen much either.

    @homefire – I bet not. :p Its still awesome, though! 🙂

    That’s awesome!  Who knew you’d get a reward for your efforts?  Nice job!  And, kudos to them.
