Update on Baby Amy

For those of you who have been wondering, Amy is still in the hospital.  She has been completely weaned off the oxygen, she is off  her IV, and she is nursing well.  BUT every time the shift changes, each new doctor keeps finding a new reason not to release her.  First they were waiting on the results of a blood culture.  When that came back fine, then they said she was a tiny bit jaundiced (which most babies are at three days) and then the next doctor said some CRP levels were slightly elevated….on and on it goes.  The lastest shift this evening hasn’t see her yet, but we’re hoping that at last they will let her go home!

Prayers would be appreciated.

I'm a wonderer. I spend a lot of time mulling, pondering, and cogitating. This is just a place to park some of those thoughts.

It kind of sounds like they’re jerking you around a bit but I don’t think you really want to take chances with an infant.  I’m glad she’s doing better though.

  2. We have been praying for you all and we’re rejoicing with you also.  There is nothing quite so precious and miraculous as a newborn!

  3. Praying that baby home!

Feeling for Amy’s parents!  Will keep praying ~

  5. I’m sad to hear this, it sounds like they’re harassing the homebirth family.

  6. I’m praying.  Hopefully they’ll tag her healthy and send her home!
