Trumped?

My husband saw Ivana Trump’s 147-foot yacht, the Gran Finale, moored at the local yacht club a few days ago.

He didn’t know at the time who it belonged to, just knew that it was way bigger than most of the yachts that frequent this area.  It’s hard to see from the picture how huge it is, but dh said it was about three stories tall.  One man was saying that it looks like it has a swimming pool on it.  We were most impressed by the fact that its tanks hold 14, 800 gallons of fuel.  Do the math.  We hope that it keeps right on cruising these waters, and fills up here often.  That ought to help our floundering economy!

I'm a wonderer. I spend a lot of time mulling, pondering, and cogitating. This is just a place to park some of those thoughts.

How does someone pay for that much gas.  I am sure at a marina the fuel is well over $4 which means, empty, it would take over $60K to fill it.  Do they just pull out and American Express card??

@Hecalmsthestorm – You guess is as good as mine!    I’m guessing their cards have a higher limit on them, whaddaya think?

Yea, that is why I said AMEX since there is not limit on that one.  I cringe when I fill up my car and it costs sixty bucks.  I cannot imagine them filling up that yacht and the guy hands them the ticket for $50,000.00 or more!!!

  4. Wow. That’s one big boat.

Kind of sad, somehow, when so much money is spent on such a thing, but like you say, at least the gas purchase boosts the economy!
