Things I have learned (or re-learned) today:
1. Red lentils cook very quickly–much faster than other types.
2. Even slightly mushy lentils make a pretty good salad if you combine them with enough stuff.
3. Even when combined with other veggies, los of cilantro, and a great dressing, lentil salad does not evoke oohs and aahs of delight from my family.
4. They would rather have blizzards for supper.
5. Never put off your bookkeeping for three weeks.
